Welcome to the Canadian Food Industry Council, over 32 million Canadians rely on us every week. They want our knowledge and advice; they rely on our skills and our systems to give them what they want. “Safe, reliable, affordable food.”

We represent over 500,000 dedicated men and women that make up this very diverse industry. Attracting and retaining the right people for our industry will be key to our future success. We have current skill shortages in the area of meat cutting, floral design, natural foods, deli, bakery, pharmacy and store management. We also need people interested in careers in supporting roles such as food safety, real estate, advertising, store design, finance, information technology, marketing, franchise operations, merchandising, and human resources just to mention a few.

Our industry is a people business. We deal with the public everyday. It’s up close and personal. It’s teamwork, it’s attitude, and it’s rewarding and we have great jobs and careers for great people.
